Elvis was seen in Portland performing on the streets during the week and was even serenading the diners in some downtown restraunts. His Third Angle performance later in the week was accompanied by ghouls in monk robes who entered the hall chanting the dies irae.
Elvis on the Streets of Portland!: Elvis is spotted on the streets of Portland, back from the dead....and playing the bassoon!
The Brothers return to the scene of past crimes with new arrangements and the first performances with Steve on the big pig. All of the past performances have sold out, so if you are traveling in from Guam to hear us get your tickets soon. Call the Oregon Symphony ticket office at (503) 228-1353 or toll-free at 1-(800) 228-7343 or visit their website. Although this is a brew pub (and are those brews tasty!), minors may attend the concert. Excellent pizza is available to soak up the pints of Ebenezer (Mark's favorite). By popular demand, the Brothers will repeat Fanfare for the Common Bassoonist with the audience providing the percussion effects.
The Bassoon Brothers will appear as surprise guest soloists on the Oregon Symphony's April Fools Concert with Murry Sidlin conducting.
The Bassoon Brothers will appear at Music Millennium's store on NW 23rd Avenue between 6:30 and 7:30 PM to give an "informance" about the upcoming Hells Angels performance with the Oregon Symphony. They will also play a few selections from the Bros' new CD, which is called Captured and has just been released. They will be signing copies of both Captured and their first CD, Wanted.
Brother Juan will return to Portland for performances and CD recording of Michael Daugherty's Hells Angels. The Brothers will dress in biker gear to play and stomp through this interesting showpiece for bassoon quartet and orchestra. The Bassoon Brothers west coast premiere of Hells Angels will be followed with a recording session.
