Here's a heading from AAtractions Magazine. Measure for Measure from American Airlines World of Entertainment 11.03 page 2, which is currently playing on all 737, 757, 767 and A300 aircraft. "Recent releases by J.C. "The London" Bach and Vaughn Williams are featured along with classic performances by Leonard Bernstein, Barry Tuckwell, and the Bassoon Brothers." We are in great company here. And we are, of course, very proud that our mission to promote the bassoon is working. The piece played is Funeral March of a Marionette by Gounod a.k.a. The Alfred Hitchcock Presents Theme. Sit back with your drink, a snack and listen to a band of belching bedposts.

SOLD OUT TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE! (We hope the guy from Guam got his ticket!) Gregory Ewer of the Oregon Symphony will join the Bros and Sis to do some fiddlin'. This will be a live recording as well with our usual audience participation, kazoos, foot stomps, and our traditional BridgePort chant. This is going to be a memorable St. Patrick's Day show with premieres of some new derangements.

The Bassoon Brothers will make their first appearance in Ashland, Oregon playing at the Southern Oregon University's Recital Hall at 8:00 pm. This event is sponsored by the Rogue Valley Symphony who are taking a big chance by booking our band of belching bedposts on their serious chamber music series. We don't think they'll be disappointed. We'll try to come up with music that appeals to everyone. Get your kazoos ready for Fanfare for the Common Bassoonist.

In their second year of chamber music sponsorship, the Coulter Concert Series will take a chance on the Bassoon Brothers musical irreverance in the St. John the Baptist Church on the Campus of the Oregon Episcopal School, 6300 SW Nicol Road Portland, OR 97223. Phone 503-245-3777. The church has excellent acoustics and is a favorite spot to play for those who know this well kept secret. We'll bring some of our sacred favorites too. But we'll try not to let the concert get too serious by passing out some kazoos for some chorus work.
